Road Transport Licensing in Hungary

Hungary's transport authority (NKH) oversees Community License applications for one of Central Europe's key haulage corridors. Register your Kft., meet the EU financial-standing threshold, and get your transport manager's CPC.

BIZ TRP confirms the real requirements before you commit to anything.

Steps to obtain the Community License

  1. Register your company

Register your Kft. (Hungarian LLC), suitable for road transport activity.

  2. Meet financial stability requirements

Demonstrate the EU-required capital — €9,000 for the first vehicle, €5,000 for each additional vehicle.

  3. Get your CPC

The designated transport manager passes the CPC exam, demonstrating qualification to manage a transport company.

  4. Prove good repute

A background check showing no criminal record and no serious breaches of transport regulations.

  5. Apply to the NKH

Submit your application with CPC certification, financial proof, and good-repute certificates.

  6. Receive your Community License

Once approved, NKH issues the license, permitting international haulage within the EU.

Company formation is not a transport licence

Registering a Kft. (Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság) in Hungary does not, by itself, give you the right to operate commercial road transport. The Community License, the transport manager's CPC, and financial standing are separate requirements on top of company formation - all four are needed together.
