How to Register a Company in Latvia (SIA) as a Foreign Founder
Setting up a Latvian SIA is straightforward — if you know which route you actually qualify for. Most guides quote the €2,800 minimum and stop there, leaving founders to discover the reduced-capital exceptions, the signature requirements, and the banking timeline the hard way.
BIZ TRP confirms your real route before you spend a euro on documents: the right capital structure, the signature or representation path that fits you, and the compliance steps that come after the registry stamp — so the company you register is the company you can actually run.

Where this usually goes wrong
The reduced-capital SIA gets confused with the standard minimum. Founders plan around a lower figure that doesn't apply to them, then discover the gap after documents are already prepared. We confirm eligibility first.
"Remote" gets assumed rather than confirmed. Not every signer automatically has a Qualified Electronic Signature and Qualified Timestamp ready. We check the signing route before it becomes a filing delay, not after.
Registration gets treated as the finish line. The company exists, but banking, tax activation, and licensing are separate work — founders who assume otherwise lose weeks they didn't budget for.

Is €2,800 always the minimum capital?
That's the standard SIA minimum. A reduced-capital SIA exists under statutory conditions — it's a separate route, not a lower version of the same one.
Can I register fully remotely?
For most founders, yes — through a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) with a Qualified Timestamp, or an authorized representative, depending on which signers are involved.
Does registration mean I can start operating immediately?
No. Registration creates the legal entity. Banking, tax/VAT activation, and any licences are separate steps.
